How it Works

Transposing from the key of "C" to the key of "D".

  1. Rotate the Present Key arrow on the middle dial to the keynote "C" on the outer dial.
  2. Place the Final Key ("D" in this case) on the inner dial under arrow.
  3. Read the corresponding note or chord roots (it depends upon what you wish them to represent) from the outer and inner dials opposite their respective indices 1 through 7 and halftones indicated by asterisks.

More Examples

A set of supplementary instructions is available online. This includes detailed instructions about the transposer and describes at least 10 different applications. Many more are possible.
